Privacy Policy
This document is provided for informational purposes and does not constitute legal advice. Have qualified counsel review before relying on it for compliance decisions.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy describes how IO Codash Technologies Private Limited ("Codash", "we", "us") processes personal data when you visit cointervue.com, contact us, or use the Cointervue AI interview platform (including app.cointervue.com and related candidate portals).
This policy applies to: (a) website visitors and prospective customers; (b) customers / employers who use the Service for hiring; and (c) candidates who participate in interviews through our platform.
This Policy should be read together with our Terms of Use, Cookie Policy, and AI & Automated Interview Policy. Enterprise customers may also have a signed Data Processing Addendum (DPA) that supplements this Policy for processor obligations.
2. Roles: Employer, Codash, and Candidate
Privacy roles depend on the context of processing:
- Employer (Customer / hiring organization): typically the data controller / data fiduciary for candidate personal data collected or used for its recruitment. The employer decides why candidates are invited, who may view interview results, and how hiring decisions are made.
- Codash (IO Codash Technologies Private Limited): (i) data controller for marketing website data (lead forms, analytics with consent); and (ii) data processor for candidate interview data processed on the employer's documented instructions to deliver the Service.
- Candidate: the individual invited to interview. Candidates provide responses and, where required, consent for recording and AI-assisted evaluation. Candidates' rights regarding interview data are exercised primarily through the employer; Codash assists the employer as processor.
Cointervue processes candidate data only to deliver the interview service, generate scorecards, maintain security and integrity, and comply with law — not for Codash's independent marketing to candidates.
If you are a candidate, questions about hiring decisions, application status, or access to your interview results should generally be directed to the employer who invited you. We will assist that employer as required by law and our contract with them.
3. For candidates (summary)
If you are taking an interview on the candidate portal, here is what you should know before you consent:
- We process identity and contact details (often provided by the employer), your interview responses, and—where you consent—audio, video, screen share, code activity, transcripts, and session metadata.
- AI is used to conduct or assist the interview and to generate structured scores and recommendations for the employer. Final employment decisions are made by the employer, not by Codash.
- Interview results are shared with authorized users at the employer who invited you. Codash staff and subprocessors access data only as needed to operate, secure, and support the Service under contract.
- By default, interview recordings and related session artifacts are deleted within 30 days after the interview is completed, unless a different retention period is agreed in writing with the employer or required by law.
- You may request access, correction, or deletion of personal data where applicable law provides that right—usually by contacting the employer first. For India DPDP grievances related to Codash processing, contact our Grievance Officer (Section 15).
- If you do not agree to required recording or AI-assisted interview processing where consent is needed, you typically will not be able to start or continue that interview session.
See also our AI & Automated Interview Policy for transparency about AI use, recordings, and human oversight.
4. Personal data we collect
Website and sales inquiries
- Name, email, phone, company, role segment, team size, and message content from contact or demo forms.
- Technical logs (IP address, browser type, pages viewed) and analytics data when you consent to statistics cookies.
Interview platform (candidates and employers)
- Identity and contact details provided by the employer or candidate (name, email, phone).
- Resume, job description, and role configuration supplied by the employer.
- Interview recordings and artifacts: audio, video, screen share, code submissions, transcripts, and session metadata.
- AI-generated scores, rubric evaluations, and hire/no-hire recommendations.
- Device, connectivity, and integrity signals used for session quality and fraud prevention.
- Consent records and acknowledgements captured in the candidate portal before an interview (where applicable).
5. How we use personal data
- Provide, operate, and improve the AI interview platform.
- Conduct conversational technical interviews and generate structured scorecards for the inviting employer.
- Share interview outputs with authorized users of that employer.
- Respond to sales inquiries and support requests.
- Maintain security, prevent abuse, and enforce integrity guidelines.
- Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
- Analyze aggregated, de-identified usage trends to improve product quality.
We do not use customer or candidate personal data to train public foundation models. We do not sell personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined under the CCPA/CPRA.
6. Legal bases and candidate consent
Where data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on one or more of the following, as applicable:
- Performance of a contract (delivering the Service to employers and facilitating interviews for candidates invited by employers).
- Legitimate interests (security, product improvement, B2B sales communication) balanced against your rights.
- Consent (non-essential cookies on the marketing website; and candidate recording / AI-assisted interview consent obtained in the product flow where required).
- Compliance with legal obligations.
- Processor instructions from the employer for candidate data processed on the employer's behalf.
Recording and AI evaluation consent (candidates)
Before an interview, the candidate portal may ask you to acknowledge and agree to our Privacy Policy, Terms of Use (candidate provisions), and AI & Automated Interview Policy, and to consent to recording and AI-assisted evaluation where required by law or by the employer’s process.
That consent typically covers: (a) capture and storage of audio, video, screen, code, and transcripts; (b) AI processing to conduct or assist the interview and generate scores; and (c) sharing of those materials and results with the inviting employer and Codash subprocessors under contract.
If you decline required consents, you will generally be unable to start or continue the interview. You may withdraw consent where applicable law allows by stopping the session and/or contacting the employer; withdrawal does not affect processing already lawfully completed, and may limit the employer’s ability to evaluate that session. Codash will support the employer in handling withdrawal requests as processor.
7. Data retention
Interview recordings and related session artifacts (audio, video, screen capture, code submissions, and associated transcripts) are deleted within 30 days after the interview session is completed, unless: (a) a different retention period is agreed in writing under an enterprise contract with the employer; or (b) a longer period is required by applicable law or a valid legal hold.
Derived scorecards and structured evaluation reports are retained for the same default 30-day period unless the employer’s contract configures a different retention period for hiring records. Where an employer configures longer retention for scorecards than for raw media, candidates should expect that structured results may be kept longer than recordings—subject to the employer’s policies and applicable law.
Employers remain responsible for informing candidates of any retention that differs from the defaults above when required by law or their internal policies.
Marketing and lead inquiry data is retained for up to 24 months unless you request deletion sooner or we have an ongoing business relationship.
Analytics data retained by Google Analytics is governed by Google’s policies and your cookie consent choices on the marketing website.
9. Security
We implement technical and organizational measures including encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest for stored data, access controls, and monitoring. Additional detail is available on our About page under Security & compliance. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we work to protect personal data consistent with industry practice and contractual commitments.
10. International transfers
We are based in India and may process data in India, the United States, the European Union, and other regions where our infrastructure providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms for cross-border transfers.
11. Your rights (by role)
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal data, and to object to or withdraw consent for certain processing.
- GDPR / UK GDPR: contact us or your local supervisory authority.
- India DPDP: contact our Grievance Officer (Section 15).
- CCPA/CPRA (California): you may request access, deletion, and correction. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Candidates
For personal data processed in connection with an interview for a specific employer, contact that employer (data controller / data fiduciary) to exercise access, correction, deletion, or related rights. Codash will assist the employer as processor. For questions about Codash’s processing operations or India DPDP grievances involving Codash, email danish.arora@codashs.com or the Grievance Officer.

12. Automated decision-making and AI scoring
Cointervue uses AI to conduct interviews and generate structured evaluation scores. These outputs support hiring teams but do not replace human hiring decisions. Employers retain responsibility for final employment decisions. Candidates may request human review of AI-assisted assessments through the employer (data controller).
See our AI & Automated Interview Policy for additional transparency about how AI is used in interviews.
13. Children
Cointervue is designed for professional hiring and is not directed at individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
14. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Material changes may be communicated to active customers.
